Job Description
Visa Corporate IT (CIT) group has embarked on a major transformation journey. We are transforming ourselves into a true engineering organization where we put customer experience and end user support first. As part of this strategy, we are consolidating several of our engineering functions into a single area focused on providing world class engineering to our end user systems. This change is geared towards rethinking how we provide engineering for the services we're responsible for.
Reporting to the Director - Client Engineering, this role is responsible for the infrastructure, applications, systems, and services throughout the Visa Windows environment. The successful candidate will be required to assist in defining and setting standards, applying solutions-based engineering, assist in the design and architecture of the Windows endpoint environment, as well as high level operations support within the department for escalations and communication.
Essential Functions
- Work to build the next generation of customer-focused endpoint technical initiatives through collaboration with other highly skilled engineers.
- Implement infrastructure solutions that take advantage of technology advances that allow cost reduction, standardization, and commoditization.
- Evaluate new releases, fixes, security updates & service packs, etc., for supported applications and perform necessary QC and certification for installation on all supported workstations platforms.
- Work with various support groups, technicians, and other SME's in reviewing certifications of new applications. Perform turn-over procedures for certified applications.
- Create packages utilizing BigFix, SCCM, Intune & custom automation via PowerShell.
- Log and track application certification using the Client engineering certification process
- Provide highly available, automated solutions that enable our operations partners to manage environments simply and effectively.
- Improve processes and support methodologies by assessing need and requirements.
- Manage, triage and drive resolution of operations escalations. Be predictive and push the reduction of those same escalations.
- Focus on innovation and collaboration with operations partners globally to reduce redundant work and improve efficiency.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Associate: Minimum of 6 months of work experience or a Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications
Associate: 2 or more years of work experience
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical discipline is required.
• 3-5 years of work experience in engineering function supporting Windows endpoint environment.
• Technical skills with workstation deployment and configuration technology stacks like Bigfix, SCCM, Intune.
• Experience in troubleshooting hardware and software problems.
• Experience with network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi).
• Team player and passionate for contributing to a culture of innovation and flawless execution.
• Demonstrated ability to drive technical initiatives and identify opportunities for improving end user technology.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with a shift-based, geographically distributed team is preferred
• Hands on experience developing and automating solutions on Windows platforms
• Experience using vulnerability assessment tools like Qualys, Fortify, Appscan or other assessment tools preferred
• Expertise in PowerShell (or) other scripting languages
