Job Description
The Sales Engineer Analyst position is a key role within the Visa Acceptance Solutions (CyberSource) – North America team. This esteemed position within our sales organization requires a unique blend of sales acumen and technical aptitude. As a critical contributor to the success of our Direct to Merchant Sales organization, the Sales Engineer Analyst's primary responsibilities include conducting technical discovery calls, providing proof of value demonstrations, performing technical product deep-dives, showcasing API-based demonstrations, creating technical architecture diagrams, authoring technical best practices, documenting detailed solution requirements, and offering pre-sales support in a merchant-facing environment.
Internally, this role involves collaboration with various departments including Direct Sales & Account Management, Product & Solution Management, Solution Architects, Implementation Support, Client Services, and Marketing to communicate market feedback and industry trends. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of cutting-edge payment technology and strategic sales, directly impacting merchant success.
Work Environment: This is a hybrid position requiring on-site presence 3 days per week (subject to change based on business needs). Light to moderate travel (up to 35%) is required for attending sales meetings, conferences, merchant events, and internal training sessions.

Responsibilities:
Maintain expert knowledge of Visa Acceptance Solutions (VAS), CyberSource, and Authorize.net solutions, and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Contribute to the architecture of merchants' payment ecosystems by positioning VAS solutions to address both business and technical requirements
Collaborate with the Direct Sales team to acquire new merchants and drive up-sell/cross-sell opportunities with existing merchants
Articulate and demonstrate how VAS solutions integrate within the merchant ecosystem to meet customer needs and requirements
Provide ongoing technical expertise and guidance throughout the sales cycle to drive opportunities to closure
Support existing VAS merchants as their needs and solutions evolve
Actively participate in internal knowledge transfer calls, client-facing discovery calls, and meetings while documenting detailed notes of all sessions
Personalize client-facing presentations based on prior calls, create necessary architectural diagrams, participate in internal dry-runs for stakeholder buy-in, conduct non-technical and technical proof of value demonstrations as required, and create technical validation documents to share with implementation merchants
Demonstrate comfort with storytelling and value-based selling approaches
Leverage Vibe Coding and create proof of value technical demonstrations using AI and NLP technologies
Execute REST APIs in Postman and demonstrate Webhook events via local or external Webhook Listeners
Maintain extreme attention to detail by logging all presentations, documents, activities, notes, emails, and calls in Microsoft Dynamics CRM and SharePoint in real-time
Engage with internal teams including Solution Management, Product Management, Technical Account Managers, Customer Support, Implementation Services, and Product Marketing to relay market feedback and provide input into the design of new solutions
Remain responsive and easily reachable via all communication channels during business hours (Chat, Email, Phone, Teams calls, etc.)
Contribute to the completion of multiple RFI/RFP requests monthly as necessary
Proactively identify opportunities to innovate and improve sales engineering processes using AI and emerging technologies
Collaborate with team members to share knowledge, best practices, and continuously elevate team performance
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of technical pre-sales experience within the payments industry
- Confident speaker with the ability to present, interact, and connect with executives, engineers, and other technical contacts
- Natural ability to understand and articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Proven ability to architect technical solutions in response to merchants' requirements
- Self-driven, motivated, and eager to learn new technologies
- Highly organized with exceptional note-taking abilities and timely CRM maintenance
- Strong desire to continuously improve and expand industry-related knowledge
- Excellence in internal and external follow-ups and task management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent self-investigation, research, and troubleshooting skills
- Technical background, including a BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related discipline
- Ability to travel up to 35%

- Previous experience working directly with merchants
- Candidates with prior CyberSource and/or payments background will be prioritized
- Strong knowledge of CyberSource and Visa Acceptance Solutions

Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 35% of the time.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 121,300.00 to 171,350.00 USD per year, **which includes base pay and potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
