Job Description

The Director, Global Markets Operations is a key member of the Global Markets Operations team, working closely with the Market Archetypes & Applied Strategy Function lead (SD). They will focus on topics at the intersection of strategy and execution, including Visa’s Market Archetypes, incubation of net-new initiatives pre-launch (e.g., SMB/Long Tail Acceptance), and key opportunities / risks facing across global markets (e.g., A2A, RTP, Wallets, Regulatory activity, Localization, other areas of Visa’s 2030 Strategy).

Other areas of focus may include identification of key trends impacting our business and related thought leadership / response planning / content development, consideration of new business and operating models, OKRs development and tracking, connectivity and exchange between business units (VAS, CMS, Consumer Payments) and Markets, Quarterly Business Reviews and Budget facilitation, planning for key events like Visa’s Annual Market Kick Off, etc.

Across all topics, the role will require highly effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement across a wide array of functions – incl. collaborating with senior leaders (key stakeholders include but are not limited to: Regional and functional BPOs, Regional Leadership teams, Group Country Managers and Country Managers, Global Sales and Commercial Operations, the Office of the CEO, Finance, Corporate Strategy, Global and Regional Product teams and more).

Responsibilities include working closely with the Market Archetypes & Applied Strategy lead on:

  • Leading and managing Visa’s Market Archetypes initiative, including roll out with functional teams and integration into BAU (budgeting, OKRs, Sales Enablement, etc.), best practice / insight sharing, client connectivity and events, Archetypes QBRs, measurement and ROI discipline, Archetypes fact-base / toolkit, and AI applications / use cases
  • Incubating and standing up new strategic initiatives (e.g., developing strategy and priorities, defining operating model / OKRs / execution approach, establishing fact base, supporting handover to long term owners, etc.)
  • Owning and prioritizing the running list or “backlog” of topics relevant for the President and the Global Markets team and executing against the key priorities
  • Assisting in the development of perspectives on a range of priority strategic initiatives as indicated by Group President
  • Crafting the agenda and working with stakeholders on content for the President’s key internal forums: The Global Markets Leadership team, the Market Leadership Council, BOD presentations on applied strategy topics, Market Archetypes Forums and Working Groups
  • Preparation of content and planning for key forums and meetings above
  • Engaging with and establishing relationships stakeholders across a range of priority topics, including close partnership with Market Archetype Captains / Group Country Managers
  • Peer mentorship across the Global Markets Operations team, helping build out the team over time, continuing to refine the remit of the function, and acting as a key leader within the Ops team and as a representative of the President’s Office.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Deep knowledge of Visa business, strategy, and operating model
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Co-pilot and other AI applications
  • Highly structured and organized. Able to dynamically prioritize across several topics / workstreams
  • Highly proactive with ownership mentality
  • Great problem-solver (ability to absorb a lot of information and summarize/synthesize key takeaways, able to quickly put down perspective and iterate, etc.)
  • Curious and fast-learner with a positive can do attitude
  • Highly collaborative with colleagues, including excellent team management / coaching skills (incl. likely growing into a people leadership role with direct reports over time)
  • Comfort and poise when interfacing with senior executives
  • Comfort with ambiguity / able to dynamically adjust to changing environment
  • Highly motivated and excited by the potential to help shape this new function and team
  • Action-oriented and execution-obsessed (able to take high level ideas into practical next steps and execution plans)
  • Strong writer and basic ‘consulting’ toolkit (e.g., PPT, XLS, quick back of the envelope math)

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 192,300.00 to 307,600.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
