The Xenial Product Education team is looking for an instructional design and technical writing generalist. We produce a variety of content that requires a variety of skills and responsibilities. We are interested in candidates capable of performing or quickly learning the following responsibilities:

  • Build support materials for Xenial products in video and written format using existing materials, stakeholder interviews, and other internal resources

  • Use Adobe Creative Cloud suite, Articulate Storyline, and similar tools to create learning materials (video storyboards and scripts, introductory videos, how-to videos)

  • Using XML-based content authoring tool, create documentation materials (technical guides, quick reference guides, release notes, and job aids)

  • Install and use Xenial products in order to gain firsthand knowledge and experience of the product

  • Conduct thorough needs analysis with stakeholders and solicit feedback on created content

  • Validate content accuracy and update resources to correspond with software releases

  • Perform professional audio narration (voice-over) where appropriate

  • Adhere to and advise improvements to the comprehensive Xenial style guide

  • Participate in peer review/proofreading as needed

  • Help generate a roadmap for future documentation deliverables

  • Communicate with multiple organizational levels and implement feedback

  • Be self-motivated and also work well in a team environment

  • Have strong attention to detail

  • Demonstrate adaptability and forward thinking in the face of technological or organizational change

  • Contribute to technical and process improvements within the team

  • Initiate and drive projects to improve customer experience, efficiency, and sensible cost avoidance

  • Perform other responsibilities as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technology, education, writing, or related field

  • Relevant experience in training, technical writing, or video production

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud suite

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and GSuite

  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Bonus skills

  • Instructional design

  • Graphic design

  • Markup languages such as XML and/or content authoring tools

  • Learning Management System administration

  • Restaurant or retail experience
